Defiance Weapon Guide – Getting Started & Understanding Weapons In Defiance
This post will give you a beginner’s guide to weapons in Defiance. You can also view our tips for beginners or have a look at how EGO & Perks work.
There are several different weapons in Defiance and then thousands of modifications that you can make to those weapons. So your weapons are a big part of the game. It’s also a large part of finding your playstyle and you’ll need to level up the weapons that you want to use in order to be a better player and know what mods to use.
The main weapon categories are:
- Sniper Rifles
- Assault Rifles
- Sub Machines Guns
- Heavy Weapons
- Alien Weapons
As mentioned above, you’ll be able to mod most weapon types. All modded weapons will be located on the Salvage Matrix and you can break down weapons to receive key components or you can add features to the weapons.
The way it works is that you will break down a weapon and eventually achieve a higher class of mod you can use.
So for instance, if you were going to add the mod Assault Scope and you broke it down from a weapon a few times you will eventually unlock Assault Scope II.
You also have options to Remove Mods, Retrieve Mods or Add Mod Slots. That will mean that you can make the weapon more powerful.
There are tons of modifications that you can add such as: stopping recoil, making the gun faster reloading, or having a bigger magazine.
You’ll want to add mods that suit your playstyle, but the first thing to do is finding a gun type that you like using.
